The cooperative
The Agricultural Craft Cooperative of Women of Agios Georgios was founded in 1992 by 20 women, residents of Agios Georgios, seat of the municipality of Heraklion in Grevena. Their effort proved to be a successful experiment and they have been working tirelessly for 25 years, keeping the traditions of their place.
The products produced by the Cooperative are Petoura (cut – split), Trachanas Xinos, Trachanas Starenios – Glykos, Trachanas Vegetables, Trachanas Alevrisios. At the local level, some traditional sweets (salia, kourabiedes, etc.), crackers and traditional fake pies are produced. The raw materials of the products are from local producers and their production is based on local traditional homemade recipes, thus maintaining the taste and quality unchanged. The important thing is that they do not have preservatives and dyes
